A slave is always there to help

What a traumatic and most difficult week it has been for Mistress Adira with the sudden passing of Her mother on 4th January 2011. What can a slave do or say in moments like these Mistress? All i could do was to offer as much help and assistance as possible and luckily i was on holidays so if Mistress Adira needed anything, at least i would be available. As fate would have it, i was actually present when Mistress received the dreaded phone call from Her sister around 5.45pm advising of the sudden passing of Her mother. Earlier in the day Mistress Adira had made arrangements to fly down to Melbourne on that evening in the hope of saying goodbye to Her mother and after maid marian had finished her cleaning duties, i was invited to stay for tea and then drive Mistress to the airport!

W/we had just sat down to eat O/our dinner when Mistress Adira received that phone call. Where does a slave go? What does a slave do in moments like this? Mistress Adira was being consoled by Her 24/7 slave and i wanted to stay out of sight as much as possible so i ducked out to the kitchen and made myself busy by washing the dishes. i just wanted to leave Mistress and Her 24/7 slave alone. If i could have, i would have just said my condolences and goodbyes and quickly left but i could not do that as Mistress Adira had to leave within 15 minutes if She was still going to catch Her already booked flight!

i washed the dishes in record time and just as i had finished Mistress Adira was now as composed as She could be in such circumstances. Decisions had been made and Mistress was still going to fly down to Melbourne. Within minutes W/we were on the road to the airport. It was a most eerie feeling driving Mistress to the Airport on this occasion but somehow Mistress Adira managed to keep Herself reasonably well composed although i think i have to buy a new packet of tissues for the car Mistress!

i dropped Mistress Adira off at the airport as Mistress was being met by Her daughter and by sheer coincidence as W/we were driving into the airport Her daughter was in the car immediately behind U/us! Mistress Adira was not due to be back on the Gold Coast until Friday night and i certainly was not expecting to hear from Mistress Adira over the next few days but i was wrong as on Wednesday morning Mistress Adira was on the phone! i was very surprised to hear from Mistress. Obviously it was something very important She wished to tell me. What could it be?

Mistress Adira advised that Her mother's funeral was not being held until the following Tuesday and that She would be coming home on Friday as planned and flying back to Melbourne on the Monday to attend Her Mother's funeral. Mistress would like Her chauffeur to come back to Melbourne to drive Her to the funeral etc! i was shocked at this invitation and i certainly was not expecting that Mistress, but within seconds i was extremely honored and proud to be able to assist You in such a way in this most difficult time Mistress! i responded to Mistress Adira with an immediate "Yes Mistress, thank You Mistress. Your slave is happy to do that Mistress" and then i had flights to book and hire car to organize. Mistress Adira returned late on Friday night and dressed in my chauffeur's uniform i was standing proudly at the Arrivals gate for Mistress to return home.

On Sunday afternoon maid marian was required for cleaning duties followed by pizza for dinner and then i was given a "little" surprise. Well it was a surprise to me... Mistress Adira was only taking hand luggage for the 2 days in Melbourne to attend Her Mother's funeral and just a quick change of clothes was all i was planning when Mistress announced: "you will be wearing your chauffeur's uniform when W/we are in Melbourne and you may leave your chauffeur's cap at home." Mistress, You said what? i certainly had not thought that i would be required to wear my chauffeur's uniform. The logistics of taking my chauffeur's uniform with only hand luggage seemed too difficult to me but Mistress Adira had that all worked out! i would wear my chauffeur's uniform on the plane! Mistress i had not even thought of that possibility. It did make some sense Mistress but i would be a bit over dressed for a passenger traveling from the Gold Coast to Melbourne Mistress would i not? Well apparently not... so i would be wearing my chauffeur's uniform. Mistress Adira was smiling that Her little surprise was in fact a big surprise to me and everything was now organized according to Mistress!

It is amazing that when You have something important to do that you normally want nothing to go wrong. Mistress Adira had allowed plenty of time for O/our journey to the Airport. The trip was going to be stressful as it was without having any added stresses and pressures of being late etc. W/we left the Gold Coast at 11.15am for a 35 minute journey to the Airport for O/our 12.55pm flight departure. Everything was going fine until W/we were about 10 kilometres from the Airport when the traffic stopped to a crawl. For as far as the eye could see there was just a very long slow moving line of traffic due to roadworks. Who would have thought Mistress! i was getting into a mild state of panic... surely W/we would not miss this very important flight due to traffic roadworks Mistress! A quick detour down a side road and W/we arrived with about 10 minutes to spare!

i was dressed immaculately in my chauffeur's uniform as W/we boarded the plane. Not sure why everyone was looking at me Mistress! The flight down was very smooth and just after 4.30pm W/we had arrived in Melbourne and were on the Tullamarine Freeway. Mistress Adira had a very busy 24 hours planned: a trip into Melbourne to pick up Her sister and her partner and her nephew and then W/we were going for about a 45 minute drive where Mistress Adira would be attending to personal matters in relation to the funeral. Rain was falling in Melbourne and trying to negotiate my way around the streets was a nightmare due to the amount of traffic on the road. At one point the traffic lights had changed 8 times and W/we had not moved an inch - unbelievable! i was becoming a little frustrated at not being able to transport Mistress quickly and smoothly but i soon realized that it was beyond my control. The most important thing to do was to get my guests there safely!

i was not to be involved in any way in the funeral. my role was just to be the driver and when Mistress Adira was attending to Her private matters, i would sit and wait in the car! i was more than happy to do that as i would do anything i could to assist Mistress Adira under these circumstances. Mistress' sister was putting U/us up for the night and Mistress Adira had arranged for me to sleep on the floor. Still a little thrill for a slave even under these circumstances Mistress and just before 1.00am i was lying in my comfortable bed! In fact it was quite soft and comfortable Mistress. Maybe You will have to have a talk to Your sister about being too kind Mistress!

Tuesday morning was the day of the funeral, everybody could not sleep and W/we were on the road just before 8.30am for the 1 hour drive to the funeral scheduled for a 10.00am start! Unlike last evening the journey this time was incident free. All the traffic was coming into town this time and W/we arrived at the Funeral Parlour just before 9.30am. i dropped Mistress Adira off and disappeared to Macca's for a coffee and a muffin! i returned back to the funeral parlour just after 10.15am and waited for Mistress Adira to return. Time did not seem to matter today... it was a surreal feeling Mistress. After the Funeral Service W/we had the short drive to the Cemetery for the burial and i was amazed just how well Mistress Adira was coping - much better than i had imagined or hoped.

At 12.30pm i dropped Mistress Adira at the wake and left to return at 5.00pm. my plan was to go and have some lunch at the hotel nearby and maybe play the pokies for a while and then listen to the radio! Whilst i was having lunch a major news story was breaking - SE Qld was in a flood crisis. Unbelievable Mistress. It was so calm and peaceful when we left only yesterday! i sat mesmerized watching the TV for the next few hours as the tragic events unfolded. Luckily enough for Mistress Adira and myself, nowhere near where W/we live! i returned around 5.00pm to collect Mistress and just after 5.10pm W/we were on O/our way driving back to the Airport for the journey home!

As expected due to the terrible weather conditions around Australia on this day, O/our flight was slightly delayed but the bonus for me and my "wife" (well that is what the lady at the Service desk called You Mistress), was that W/we were able to have exit row seats - a little bit of comfort and extra leg room for U/us Mistress. W/we returned home to the Gold Coast around 9.45pm and by the time i had dropped Mistress Adira back home it was not till about 11.00pm before i arrived back at my place! What an incredible 30 hours it had been Mistress. Within minutes of arriving home i was fast asleep as i did not have too long to rest and recover as Mistress Adira required Her chauffeur again at 8.00am this morning. Life as Your chauffeur never stops Mistress!

i just cannot imagine how difficult and stressful time it has been for You Mistress over this past week Mistress but if i was able to assist in making it just that little bit easier for You to cope Mistress, that is all i could have wished or hope for Mistress.
